Mayor Randy Hope is standing by his claim the economy is picking up and more investment could be coming.
Hope says investments by existing businesses added more than 400 new jobs in the past year with another 125 created by the small business community.
"They're not always the jobs people want, sometimes we are still waiting for that big manufacturer to land," he says. "We've got investors coming in June, we have the interest of those investing, they are now coming here."
He says however that attracting overseas investment is a lot more complicated and takes longer than dealing with companies based in Canada and the United States.
