A Chatham man is in custody after police found him in possession of, among other things, drugs and bear mace.
After an officer on general patrol spotted the man riding his bike on Park Ave. W just before 7pm yesterday, the suspect climbed through a hole in a fence and tried to hide on CN Rail property.
Upon making the arrest, police say they found the 40-year-old in possession of bear mace, drugs, drug paraphernalia and needles.
It turns out the same man was released with bail conditions, in both February and March, to not possess any of those items; the mace in this case is considered a weapon. He's been charged with six counts of failing to comply.
