Chatham-Kent OPP say the woman was driving a Dodge Neon when it hit a Ford Focus from behind.
All three people inside the Dodge vehicle were uninjured, but the two occupants of the Ford vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hwy. 40 was closed in the area for a short time, but has since reopened.
