A group of Chatham-Kent high school students need your help to send them to the Robotics World championships.
The team, called the C.K. Cyber Pack, recently won the rookie all-star award at the Windsor-Essex Great Lakes Regional to qualify for the worlds. Team member and communications leader James Thompson says it costs $15,000 to compete at the event later this month, and they've raised about $11,000.
"You can go on our Facebook, which is CK Cyber Pack, there's a link on there too to our Indiegogo campaign where you can make a donation," says Thompson. "Of course you get benefits for donating to us."
Thompson says they've already received large donations from St.Clair College and Union Gas, but still need to raise about $4,000 over the next ten days or so.
The team is made up of 24 students ranging from Grade 9 to Grade 12 from various local high schools, and have been using the St. Clair College Thames Campus labs to build the robot. The world championships are being held in St. Louis, Missouri from April 22-25.
