An interactive mural at John McGregor High School in Chatham, that has been over four months in the making, is now complete.
Art teacher Rod Beck and some of his most eager Grade 11 students recently finished the 50 ft long mural. Not only does it feature Canadian inventions, but Beck says each part of the mural is hands-on. "They'll be able to hold up their ipad and scan each individiual image of an invention and it will then link to lets say the YouTube video about it," says Beck. "Or it could be one of the science teachers from our department talking about what this is."
The idea was born from Science Teacher Tim Regan, who approached Beck with the idea back in September.
Beck says the mural, which includes images of Commander Chris Hadfield, the Canada Arm, and Dextre, also known as the International Space Station's robotic handyman, is their fourth at the school.
The image of the mural was recently retweeted by the Canadian Space Agency and Chris Hadfield.
