It happened on a family run farm on Imperial Rd. in the Township of Malahide just before 3:30pm.
Police say 56-year-old Patrick Unger died after falling into a grain silo.
They say he was trying to loosen corn from the auger when the accident happened.
Lambton OPP are on the lookout for a break and enter suspect.
Corn, Soybeans and Wheat all finished mostly steady mid-week.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
