Hospice officials have hired a Chatham company to complete construction of the new building in March.
Westhoek Construction Limited is expected to start work within the next couple weeks. A pair of information sessions will also be held on March 6 at 2pm and 7pm at St. Andrew's Residence at 99 Park St. in Chatham.
Construction Committee Chair Jim Laforet says they were searching for a versatile company to take the project. "We were definitely looking for general contractors who could handle a project of this size. But also a project that was a mix of the residential care side of it plus some of the commercial-type facilities that we have."
The construction for the facility at the corner of Wellington and Adelaide streets will cost $3-million.
