Chatham-Kent Council has nominated Mayor Randy Hope to sit on the Association of Municipalities of Ontario Board of Directors.
Council has also nominated Leon Leclair for the AMO rural or country caucus, while Hope is vying for a seat on the regional and single-tier caucus.
Hope says Chatham-Kent hasn't seen much representation on AMO. "Our identity is spread right from the county perspective to the big city perspective," says Hope. "Because we carry such a diversity in the number of things we do, it's finally time that we take it to the AMO stage."
AMO represents over 400 municipalities in the province.
