Critters Looking For Warmth

As cold temperatures set in and shelter becomes scarce, pests are looking for warm homes to get their food and water.

"Especially if you've got a brick house, there may or may not be a small hole on the outside...if you can put your finger in there, then a rodent can get in," says Steve's Pest Management Service Manager Scott McClenaghan.

McClenaghan adds entryways for pipes and hydro lines are also spots where mice and rats can enter your home. To figure out if a rodent is in the home, McClenaghan says to check for droppings.

"You're going to find them typically either underneath a sink, behind a stove as well as behind a refrigerator," he says.

McCleneghan says they love kitchens because they have access to moisture and condensation on pipes as a water source.
