Blenheim Relay Still On

Despite the cancellation of Wallaceburg's Relay for Life, Blenheim will still hold a relay next year.

Officials with the Canadian Cancer Society says the relay on June 6, 2015 will be a hybrid of those that usually occur in the community and at Blenheim District High School.

Chatham-Kent Manager Cindy Vinall says they'll just be holding one integrated relay at the high school this year.

"Our hope is we'll be able to collaborate with the leadership students from the high school and provide them with volunteer experience," she says.

This comes after the Canadian Cancer Society told relay participants in Wallaceburg that they'll have to participate in a relay somewhere else in Chatham-Kent. Vinall says it's all about pooling together resources.
