Ministry Provides Parkway Construction Update

Construction of the Herb Gray Parkway is on target to be completed by the summer of 2015.

Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca says nearly 1500 girders have been installed.

"Additional attention was provided by the Ministry of Transportation with respect to some of the quality assurance testing and examinations and analysis that took place. We're now in a position to state very confidently in keeping with all of that additional work that was done and also bearing in mind how important safety is, this project is moving forward."

Portions of the completed project include six bridges, the multi-lane roundabout and eight of nine municipal roads that cross the Parkway. At peak times the project continues to employ 1,200 workers daily.
