With Perth-Wellington being a massive agriculture area, MP John Nater says there are immense challenges in that sector right now due to COVID-19.
Nater says the biggest issue he's seeing is with concerns over the supply chain.
"There's a real concern about the supply chain for food," said Nater. "So ensuring the processing capacity is there from farm to fork. There's differecnt concerns with the processing capacity decreasing from plants across Ontario. So that's something of great concern for the agriculture community."
Nater also says more should be done for local farmers and businesses of all sizes under the government emergency benefit programs that have been roled out over the last few weeks.
