Farm equipment on roads

It's that time of the year again for more farm equipment appearing on local roadways.

Drivers of heavy machinery are being urged to use lights, taillights and signals to make your equipment as visible as possible to other motorists.

And a slow moving vehicle sign should be prominently on the back of equipment,.

On the other side, drivers are reminded to slow down, remember the rules of the road, take the time to put safety first, make sure a path is clear, and make sure the driver of heavy machinery can see you before you pass.

And motors are being told not to expect large farm machinery to pull over to the shoulder, as it can be dangerous for a large piece of equipment.

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture has some videos available on the subject.
