Ayton, Tiverton Represented At World Plowing In Kenya

Two local men represented Canada at the World Plowing Championships in Nakuru, Kenya.

Jay Lennox of Ayton competed in the conventional plowing category against 22 others from around the world while Tom Evans of Tiverton was in the reversible plowing group which had a total of 19 competitors.

The first day was plowing through stubble, and the second day of competition was through grassland.

Lennox finished 11th overall with 278 points. The winner was Gene Gruber from the US with a score of 437.

Evans finished 8th overall. He was 2nd in grassland plowing but 13th in through stubble. Evans' point total was 333.5, the winner was from Ireland with 432 points.
