Maple Leaf Foods has announced they plan to raise prices shortly, to offset rising raw material costs. The company says margins have narrowed, offsetting other favourable market conditions. On an adjusted basis, Maple Leaf earns 41 cent per share, up from 32 cents in the same quarter last year. Sales for the three months ending June 30th totalled almost $1B, up approximately $150M from a year ago.
