Pierre Lampron of Quebec was elected at the group's annual general meeting this week in Edmonton.
Lampron will replace outgoing president Wally Smith, who had completed his maximum three terms.
The group is also looking for a new executive director to replace Caroline Emond, who resigned earlier this month.
