There is also a disconnect between urban and rural audiences. Many consumers do not know where the food on their plate comes from. This gap needs to be filled. With this is mind Grain Farmers of Ontario has developed and produced a Public Service Announcement.
Grain Farmers of Ontario wants to educate the public about the healthy food grown locally by families just like theirs. These families use sustainable farming practises in their operations. The PSA called “Farmed by Families” features families across the province who farm barley, corn, oats, soybeans and wheat. Viewers learn of the variety of grains that go into their food, furniture and fuel.
Grain Farmers of Ontario released this PSA in February, and has already seen pick up across Ontario and in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. The PSA will run for 6 months. If you would like to see the PSA visit Grain Farmers of Ontario on Youtube and look up ‘PSA: Farmed by Families.’
