Perth County Holstein Club Ready For 100th Anniversary Gala

The Perth County Holstein Club is hosting a gala on March 25th to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Former secretary-treasurer Elaine Standeaven says, instead of a having a traditional feature speaker like in other years, the event will have Gary West move around the room and interview current and veteran breeders of the club, as well as former directors to speak on the history of the club.

In addition to a dinner, musical entertainment and a dance, guests can also take in a display which includes old books, sales catalogues , newspaper clippings and features on master breeders.

Standeaven also notes the younger generation will be involved as well.

"We're also including the Perth County 4-H kids in our gala. They're going to run a mocktail bar, which serves non-alcoholic drinks, and they're also going to man our coat check. Any of the money that comes in towards that is going towards dairy 4-H in Perth County."

Tickets for the gala cost $50 and can be purchased by emailing infopchc@gmail.com, or by calling (519) 272-2385.
