CCA Wants TPP Talks Renewed

The Canadian Cattlemen's Association wants federal trade ministers to renew talks of a Trans-Pacific Partnership next week when they travel to Chile.

The association says it's concerned about the recent anti-trade discussions going on in governments from North and South America.

It feels that's a dangerous way to think as market-based trade is vital to the long-term viability of the global economy.

The association says the withdrawal of America from the TPP in January was a setback to its vision, but it's encouraged by the continued discussions from other signatory countries.

It also points out removing unnecessary trade barriers is beneficial to all cattle farmers as it brings consumers and producers from a diverse range of cultures closer together.
