100,000 Cow Dairy Operation Planned In Russia

If you think dairy operations around here are getting pretty big, then an expanding operation in Russia will really put that in place.

Agronomy-Ukraine reports Rusagro is working out the final details of a $1-billion investment.

The expansion would increase Russia's current milk production by a full 2 per cent.

100,000 cows will needed to fill the company's shipments to China, South Korea, Japan and across Russia.

To keep up with production, a freshly-filled milk truck will depart the dairy operation every 30-40 minutes.

Rusagro's 3rd quarter sales last year hit $815 million.
