Cargill is investing $3.5-million in its beef processing plant in Guelph.
New technology will be installed to allow the plant to produce protein-rich animal feed for livestock and poultry on-site.
The project will also reduce the company's environmental footprint.
The provincial government is kicking in $582,000 as part of the $3.5-million venture.
The facility processes 1,500 head of cattle per day.
