Poultry Producer Update Coming To Clifford

The Poultry Industry Council's Poultry Producer Update will be back in the five counties in exactly a week.

PIC Education and Extension Programs Manager Laura Bowers notes the event has previously been held in Mt. Forest, but due to scheduling it will now take place at the Clifford Arena.

Bowers says next Wednesday promises speakers with advice and information for all varieties of poultry farmers, especially those looking to build or renovate.

"It seems to be something that there's a lot of questions about. We know there are a lot of new barns going up currently. There seems to be a lot of people also looking to add or expand a barn, or replace one that's getting to the end of it's lifespan. So it's something we've seen a lot of interest in, and we always try to make these updates are relevent to what people in the area are looking for."

She adds other topics will include on-farm vaccinations, news from the Arkell Poultry Research Station, and modular loading -- of which there'll even be an on-site demonstration.

The event will also include updates from both OMAFRA and the PIC.

Registration can be done online at www.poultryindustrycouncil.ca for $55, or you can still get in for $70 at the door.
