The total of 1.1 million tonnes for the year was up 3.4 per cent on 2015.
That comes after an increase of 3.5 per cent from 2014.
StatsCan notes Ontario and Quebec produced over half the nation's chicken last year.
Ontario accounted for over 376,000 tonnes, nearly 11,000 more than in the year before, which is an increase of 3 per cent.
