More than 70 people attended the Huron and Perth Pork Producers' Association annual general meeting in Mitchell this week.
Ontario Pork Board Chair Amy Cronin presented an update on the organization's activities of the past year along with board member John de Bruyn.
This year's key speaker was Dr. Christine Baes, Assistant Professor of Animal Biosciences at the University of Guelph.
Members felt her talk on genomic applications for the swine industry to be thought provoking.
Before the end of the meeting, producers debated and passed five resolutions to be submitted to the resolutions committee.
They also held elections and filled all 18 delegate positions, as well as five substitutes.
