Calving season will soon be upon us again and the Beef Cattle Research Council would like to remind producers of some of the risks for newborns.
The council notes the best way to evaluate calf health is by thinking of diseases as a triad -- taking in the environment, the animal, and the pathogen or bug.
Veterinarian and Professor at the University of Calgary Dr. Claire Windeyer believes that planning ahead is the key to cattle producers’ success in reducing the risks of calf disease.
The BCRC is hosting a webinar next week where Dr. Windeyer will be further discussing calf health.
