Fence Thieves Selling Wood For Home Decor

Farmers in British Columbia are becoming victims of rustic home decorating.

The B.C. Cattlemen's Association says they've had six reports of stolen fencing this fall.

General Manager Kevin Boon believes the weathered wood is being sold to homeowners in and around Vancouver.

Boon tells the Times Colonist that the fencing has been stolen from highway underpasses.

He says it could be very dangerous when hundreds of cows find the break in the fencing and head up to the highway.

It's estimated $50,000 in repairs will be needed.

Surrey police have arrested three men after spotting a pile of the rustic wood in the back of a rented truck.
