Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay is in the midst of our nation's biggest ever trade mission.
He's one of more than 100 Canadian representatives involved in a 10-day trek to China to build upon Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visit in September.
The Minister says the trade mission is a great example of the federal government's committment to expanding farm markets with China and the rest of the world.
He adds the increase in trade opportunities will help our businesses, strengthen the middle class and grow the economy.
AAFC notes China is now Canada's second largest trade partner, after the U.S.
Agricultural trade between Canada and China has grown by 13 per cent over that last three years, hitting $7.7 billion in 2015.
