Major Grain Prices Should Remain Quiet For November

Major grain prices have seen little movement over the past week.

Marty Hibbs of the Grain Farmers of Ontario notes corn and wheat prices simply bounced back and forth in a tight trading window.

He says the pattern shown by corn prices suggests higher prices in upcoming months but movement will likely be slow and sideways for much of November.

The analyst also feels wheat has no clear direction yet and expects prices to remain between $4.00 and $4.30 on the December contract.

This week soybean prices hit Hibbs' earlier resistance target of $10.30.

He feels that could swing the other way now towards the $9.30 level as harvest here winds down and South America's soybean planting continues ahead of schedule.
