GFO: Grain Farm Management Program

This year, the Grain Farm Management Program, offered by the Agri-food Management Institute (AMI), has been tailored for Grain Farmers of Ontario farmer-members.

Over the course of five full-day sessions you will learn how to think more strategically, work with cyclical markets, use professional advisors to your best advantage, and work with your assets.

Financials from a case study grain farms, gives tools to take home and apply directly to your own farm financials. At the end of the course, you’ll even have a Management Action Plan - tailored to your own operation - that you can implement right away.

The cost for this program is $750+HST and $450 for the second registrant. These prices include all workshop materials, a large take home binder, and meals/refreshments.

The program is being held at the Elmhurst Inn in Ingersoll with dates from November 2016 to February 2017. Grain Farmers of Ontario fully supports this program and will pay mileage to any farmer-member that attends this five day program.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
