As rain continues to fall in the midwest United States, the USDA has slightly downgraded the condition of a potential record corn crop once more.
73 per cent of the current crop is rated good to excellent.
That's down 1 per cent from last week but still 5 points better than the five year average.
The department also reports 24 per cent of corn to be harvested, which is right on par with last year and slightly behind the average for the last half decade.
Soybean harvest is a full 10 per cent behind last year's pace but just a point behind the average.
The field crop report rates soybeans 74 per cent good to excellent, which is up 1 per cent from last week.
The USDA also notes 43 per cent of winter wheat to be in the ground, just back of last year and the five year average.
20 per cent has already emerged, which is 3 per cent ahead of the usual clip.
