Egg Farmers of Canada Win Chrystal Egg Award

The Crystal Egg Award is back in Canadian hands.

The Egg Farmers of Canada were awarded the prize in Kuala Lumpur for outstanding commitment to corporate and social responsibility.

The announcement was made during the International Egg Commission's Global Leadership Conference.

Peter Clarke, EFC Chairman says they try to bring social responsibility into all aspects of their organization.

He adds social responsibility is rooted in agricultural traditions and is an important part of farmers' business and lives.

The organization is involved with the Canadian Young Farmers' Forum to help foster the next generation of agricultural leaders.

EFC notes they're also partnered with Food Banks Canada, the Breakfast Club of Canada and the International Egg Foundation.

Egg Farmers of Canada won the Crystal Egg Award once before, in 2014.
