The USDA's latest crop progress report is showing the condition of corn and soybeans in 18 states are in better shape this year than last.
In the USDA's report ending September 11, the average percent of corn crops in 18 states listed as good sits at 54% which is 5% better than last year at the same time. While 20% are being reported as excellent, a 1% improvement.
The numbers are improved for soybeans. The average is 55% good across 18 states, 9% better than last year. And 18% is excellent and that's 3% better year over year.
And for Spring Wheat, in six states, the percent harvested is sitting at 94% which is well above the four year average between 2011-2015 which is at 86%.
