Deere and Company say they're going to court to take on the U.S. Department of Justice.
The department announced yesterday they've blocked Deere from acquiring Precision Planting, citing competitive impact.
In a statement, Deere says the DOJ's decision is misguided.
They add they'll defend their transaction vigorously as they feel they'd cooperated with in full with the department's antitrust review.
Deere states they're focused on helping producers become more productive in an increasingly competitive agricultural world.
They also say they'll keep Precision Planting independent to help speed up getting new technology to market.
Along with The Climate Corporation, who is a subsidiary of Monsanto, Deere had signed an agreement to buy Precision Planting last November.
