New Beef Industry Conference Exceeds Registration Expectations

Co-Chair Rob Smith says the response to this year's first-ever Canadian Beef Industry Conference was absolutely amazing.

He says it bodes well for making it an annual event.

The main objectives for last week's 3-day event in Calgary was to create a national meeting place to bring together all facets of the industry involved in beef production.

The conference exceeded registration expectations with over 650 producers, industry members and supporters from across the country attending.

It was a joint collaboration of the Beef Cattle Research Council, Canada Beef, the Canadian Beef Breeds Council and the Canadian Cattlemen's Association.

Smith's co-chair - Virgil Lowe - suggests the momentum and strengthened connections established at last week's conference will help drive ahead the National Beef Strategy and all the industry's interests for years to come.
