Grey County wants to ensure farmers and people in the food sector are able to make the best use of broadband technology.
Grey County councillors were recently given a preview of a coming conference called AG 4.0: The Next Big Thing - where agriculture and food producers will be able to connect with tech professionals.
Project lead Ashleigh Weeden explains the purpose of the conference.
"The overall goal is to position Grey County as a centre for excellence in rural economic development and that really means thinking about how do we stay healthy, vibrant, sustainable and prosperous well into the future as well as right now," says Weeden.
Philly Markowitz is Grey County's Economic Development Officer.
"It is a high priority for us to be focusing both on our broadband and our agriculture and food and this is an opportunity to marry those things together for maximum impact."
The conference will be held over two days in November at the Meaford Hall.
