We're hearing lots of talk about upcoming International Plowing Matches - the one this fall near Harriston and the one next year in Huron County.
However, graduating Bruce County secondary school students have reason to remember the 2008 IPM near Teeswater.
The Bruce County Commodities Food Court at that event was so popular organisers used some of the profits to create a scholarship for graduating students in the county.
The key requirement for the 1 thousand dollar scholarship is that applicants be maintaining a strong connection to agriculture.
That can be through a post-secondary agricutlure program, apprenticing in an agriculture-related field, or being substantially engaged in farming in some other way.
The application process involves 2 documents - a resume and a 1 thousand word essay on the applicant's future plans and why they want to remain involved in agriculture.
The applicant should be graduating this year.
Deadline for applications is September 12th.
The application package should be emailed to agrimedia@blackburnradio.com.
