An MP from Manitoba has been named winner of a contest sponsored by Chicken Farmers of Canada.
Doctor Robert-Falcon Ouellette's favourite chicken sandwich recipe was selected as the best of 81 entered in the contest by MPs from across Canada.
His Canadian Chicken Slaw Sandwich becomes the one that will be served to 10 thousand people at the Great Canadian Chicken BBQ in Ottawa on July 1st.
The win also means Chicken Farmers of Canada will be donating 10 thousand dollars to a food bank in Doctor Ouellette's Manitoba riding of Winnipeg Centre.
Mp's from B-C and Oshawa, Ontario finished second and third.
CFC is donating 5 thousand dollars to a food bank in B-C and 25 hundred to one in Oshawa for those entries.
Chicken Farmers of Canada will also be donating 50 cents from each sandwich or salad sold at the July 1st barbecue to the Ottawa Food Bank.
