Summary Tuesday Fed steers and heifers sold on a selective demand at easier prices Choice strs and hfrs 157.00 – 160.00 sales to 163.50. Second cut 154.00 – 157.00. Cows sold steady Thursday Holstein calves sold on a good active trade at prices $2-3 higher. Beef calves sold steady. Lambs and goats sold steady while sheep sold higher Friday Calves sold active and steady and yearlings sold on an active trade at steady prices with choice cattle bringing a premium. Steers

Francis Riley of Walkerton consigned 9 steers that averaged 1651 lbs and sold for an average price of 156.32. One black steer weighed 1620 lbs and sold to Cargill Meat Solutions for 161.00

Tom Nowry of Earlton consigned one gold steer that weighed 1425 lbs and sold to Norwich Packers for 160.50.

Heifers

Johnston Farms of Bluevale consigned 45 heifers that averaged 1501 lbs and sold for an average price of 156.30. One black heifer weighed 1445 lbs and sold to Norwich Packers for 163.50.

Lloyd Reid of Palmerston consigned 21 heifers that averaged 1374 lbs and sold for an average price of 159.04. Seven char heifers averaged 1348 lbs and sold to Cargill Meat Solutions for an average price of 160.25
