This is Local Food Week in Ontario.
OMAFRA points out that by buying local food, consumers are getting nutritious, delicious and environmentally-friendly groceries as well as supporting their neighbours , friends and the local economy.
Ontario's Agriculture Minister, Jeff Leal, will be launching the 2016 Local Food Report today to help kick off the week's events.
This year's Breakfast on the Farm event is on Saturday at Veldale Farms, near Woodstock.
