U-S corn growers are moving well ahead of the five year average pace with their spring planting.
The USDA's latest Crop Progress Report has 30 per cent of the crop planted against a 16 per cent five-year-average.
This is the first weekly report this year with soybean planting noted.
It's at 3 per cent, compared with the 2 per cent five-year-average.
And the department reports 42 per cent of the U-S spring wheat crop is in the ground against the 28 per cent five-year average for this time of the year.
As for the winter wheat crop - it's currently rated 59 per cent good to excellent.
That's up 2 points from a week ago and 17 points ahead of last year at this time.
