Real Dirt On Farming Hits 1 Million Copies Mark

It was something they thought would take 4 years, but only took 15 months.

Farm and Food Care Canada says it has distributed 1 million copies of the latest Real Dirt on Farming booklet.

The booklet is written to answer Canadians' questions about food and farming.

Topics include pesticides, antibiotics and GMO's.

It's goal is to help readers make more informed decisions about their food purchases.

The Real Dirt on Farming booklet is a national initiative of Farm & Food Care Canada and it's provincial organisations in Ontario and Saskatchewan.

Kelly Daynard manages the project.

She says the entire food and agriculture community has rallied behind the initiative.

Examples of that include an Ontario Junior Farmer club that purchased 5 thousand copies to hand out at events in it's region and the PEI Federation of Agriculture, which inserted 20 thousand copies in the Charlottetown Guardian.

You can get a look at the booklet or order copies through the website www.realdirtonfarming.ca.
