Canadian Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay made his first official visit to the U-S this week.
It included a meeting with U-S Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, where they reportedly talked about ways to facilitate trade and increase the competitiveness of the agriculture sector .
MacAulay is also meeting with U-S companies and associations from the COOL Reform Coalition.
The minister is re-affirming Canada's commitment to monitoring the implementation of the repeal of those labelling regulations on beef and pork.
More than half of Canada's agriculture and seafood exports go to the U-S.
