Farm Groups Have No Position Yet On G2G Rail Trail

The Huron and Perth Federations of Agriculture are denying reports they have developed a position on the Goderich to Guelph Rail Trail.

An open letter from the two organisations quotes the rail trail group as saying the Federations had developed a position.

The area of contention continues to be the challenges identified by farmland property owners adjacent to the proposed trail.

The two federations had representation on a working group which outlined some possible solutions to the challenges.

Those were part of Public Open Houses in November in Milverton and Blyth.

The Perth and Huron Federations say a number of questions submitted at those Open Houses have yet to be answered.

They say they won't be able to consider a position on the trail proposal until they've had a chance to consult with adjacent farmland property owners about the answers to those questions.
