The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers is expanding it's plant and warehouse facility.
The two million dollar project will boost the capacity of that facility to 98 million pounds of maple syrup - the equivalent of an entire year's production.
It collects, pasteurizes and stores millions of pounds of syrup destined for Quebec's Global Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve.
The Federation uses that reserve to maintain it's marketing volumes despite years of lower production.
This could be one of those years, with Statistics Canada reporting Quebec's maple production was down by almost 6 per cent from 2014 levels.
