A spokesperson for Health Canada says they're continuing to monitor the actions of the EPA on the weed killer Enlist Duo.
The U-S Environmental Protection Agency is trying to withdraw it's approval of the product for use on genetically modified corn and soybeans.
It says new information from manufacturer Dow AgroSciences suggest Enlist Duo is probably more toxic to other plants that previously thought.
The EPA wants to pull it's approval to re-evaluate the product in light of that new information, including whether to impose wider buffer zones to protect non-target plants.
Health Canada says Enlist Duo has been registered in Canada since 2013.
The spokesman tells us Health Canada continues to monitor the actions of regulators in other jurisdictions, including the EPA.
And she says should new information emerge, the department will evaluate the data and assessments.
