CN and 4-H Canada are joining forces to advance youth leadership and promote farm safety.
CN is putting 600 thousand dollars into two 4-H Canada programs.
One is the new annual 4-H Canada Leadership Excellence Awards of Distinction - or LEAD.
Those awards will recognize exceptional 4-H senior youth members by providing four-year scholarships worth 5 thousand dollars a year towards post-secondary studies.
The first four LEAD scholarship winners are from Saskatchewan, B-C, New Brunswick and Manitoba.
CN's Sean Finn says the company believes the scholarship program will help develop future leaders.
The other program is the establishment of a 4-H Farm Safety Fund to support clubs, districts, regions and provincial organisations across Canada with farm and community safety initiatives.
