Goat Show Results From The 2015 Royal

Another good showing at the Royal for Teeswater's Franken family.

Frankhaven Dairy Goats took home 20 ribbons - including two Grand Champions, one Reserve Champion and three Best udder placings in the recorded grades and Saanen categories.

Frankhaven Dairy Goats also picked up Premier Exhibitor and Breeder's Herd honours in the Recorded Grades and Toggenburg competitions.

Their Teeswater operation milks 750 animals, with the bulk of their milk production going into cheese.

Priceville exhibitor Lynn Lightbody also did well in the Saanen judging, with a first, a second and the Reserve Junior Champion doe.

Lightbody showed some animals in the Nubian division at this year's Royal, picking up a first and a second place among her top three finishes.

Two Meaford exhibitors had the top two Nubians in the Royal's Youth Goat Show this past weekend.

Ian Holvik's animal came in first in the category - Matthew Holvik's came in second.

Dennis Schiestel of Fergus picked up some major honours at the CMGA East National Meat Goat Show at the Royal.

Shiestel's Maplecrest Farm showed the Grand and Reserve Champion Does - Maplecrest Falling Star and Maplecrest Feisty.

Tavistock exhibitors Tobin and Erin Schlegel also picked up 4 firsts, 2 seconds and a third in the various categories in that meat goat competition.

Markdale's Gregory and Darlene Elchuk were named Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder in the East National Dairy Goat Nigerian Dwarf competition at the Royal.

Animals shown by the Grey County exhibitors picked up a couple firsts, a second and two thirds among their top-3 finishes in the various categories.
