Royal - Cattle Competition Results

The Masterfeeds Supreme Beef Bull Champion and Champion Females at this year's Royal Agricutlural Winter Fair are both Angus animals.

The Supreme Champion Bull is PM Thunderstruck, jointly owned by Black Lane Farm, Poplar Meadows Angus and Vos Vegas Angus.

The Supreme Champion Female was OSU Empress 3100, co-owned by Premier Livestock of Milverton, Hasson Livestock of Guelph and Six Mile Angus Ranch of Saskatchewan.

That's the second straight Supreme Champion Female win for that animal.

A good weekend of competition at the Royal for Brad Gilchrist of Gilchrist Farms, Lucknow.

His Angus competition winnings included Junior Division Female, Junior Bull, Intermediate Champion Female, Senior Bull Calf Reserve Champion, Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder awards.

Premier Livestock of Milverton showed the Junior Division Reserve Female, Senior Division Champion Female, Grand Champion Female among it's winners.

Bruce Patchell's Patchell Livestock of Hanover had the Junior Reserve Champion Bull.

Sandy Reid of RK Cattle Company of Moorefield picked up a second place in one of the Angus categories on the weekend.

A little added recognition for a Hanover-area farmer this past weekend.

Erich Kern of Kern Simmentals collected a couple of third-place finishes in the Simmental competition at the Royal.

He was also given the 2015 Champion Fullblood Female banner - a special recognition celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Simmental breed exhibited at the Royal.

It's been a good year for Kern - who was also inducted into the Canadian Simmental Association Hall of Fame earlier this year along with Mike Burns of Kingfield Simmentals of King City.

That was in recognition of their dedication and commitment to Canadian Simmental.

Another Grey County exhibitor showed up among the top 3 finishers in the various Simmental classes at the Royal.

Todd Campbell of Destiny Simmentals of Rocklyn picked up seconds in 2 different categories.

Exhibitors from Kincardine and Lucknow showed well at the Royal's National Limousin Show in Toronto.

Rail Line Farms of Lucknow showed the Senior Champion Heifer and the Champion Bull Calf as well as capturing Junior Get of Sire honours.

Bailey and Ashley McConnell of McConnell Livestock of Kincardine showed the Grand Champion Junior Heifer Calf in the National Limousin competition.
