Raising The Profile Of Local Food In Grey-Bruce

About 40 Meaford area residents accepted an invitation Thursday to enjoy various dishes featuring locally-produced vegetables, fruit, meats and wines.

The invitation came from members of the Grey Bruce Agriculture and Culinary Association.

The occasion was the 2015 Field to Fork Dinner, held in the galleries of Meaford Hall.

Vendors offered free appetizers to visitors who dropping in while others served those who had purchased a ticket for dinner.

Co-chair Anita DeJong the money raised by Thursday’s Field to Fork dinner will be used to help pay for brochures, food maps and other promotional literature.

The Grey Bruce A.C.A. is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting fresh, local food in the south-Georgian Bay community.

The annual Field to Fork dinner features food and drink that comes from member farms, farmers’ markets, cooking schools and other food-based businesses.
