OAC Interim Dean Has Huron County Connections

A man with strong ties to Huron County is now the interim dean of the Ontario Agricultural College.

Wayne Caldwell takes over from Rob Gordon, who's leaving the University of Guelph to become vice-president of research at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo.

Caldwell was born in Huron County and has maintained a career-long affiliation with the county, largely through his work with the Huron County Department of Planning and Development.

He's been a University of Guelph professor since 2000.

Caldwell's areas of study include farmland preservation, rural conflict resolution and local governance.

A search for a new OAC dean is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
